Nathan & Melissa Schafer are the creative husband and wife team behind Schafer Specialty Landscape & Design on Vashon Island. They specialize in providing residents and businesses with sustainable landscape design, installation and maintenance services.

Melissa is a Certified Professional Horticulturist and also studied Environmental Horticulture at Lake Washington Technical College. Prior to starting their business, Melissa managed a local nursery and was the head caretaker for several residential gardens on Vashon Island and Nathan worked several years doing stone and landscape installation and light construction.
